Jimena Arroyo is a singer-songwriter, topliner, author and English-Spanish sworn translator from La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
From an early age, she has shown a talent for inventing her own songs and stories, so much so that she used to make up her own nursery rhymes at kindergarten and, at the age of 8, she wrote her first song in English, her second language.
At the age of 19, she won a car in a singing competition on the TV show "1,2,3 OUT!" From that moment on, she started performing live and worked as a touring singer in a prestigious local cover band. For over ten years she perfomed in bars, theaters, restaurants, resorts and some local TV shows in her country while studying translation at the National University of La Plata.
After graduation, she kept pursuing her passion: writing. She has published seven children’s books so far. But just like we all go back to our first love, it was writing music that really drove her, so she started writing songs again with very talented musicians, composers and producers from all over the world.
Her songwriting talents have not gone unnoticed and since her comeback to professional music in 2017, she has been nominated for several international independent music awards, such as the 2018 Nashville Universe Awards and the 2018 Josie Music Awards. Both in 2020 and 2021, she won an ISSA (International Singer-Songwriters Association) award for Best International Female Vocalist (Silver) and her music is being played on multiple radio stations worldwide.
She released her first album with with multi-instrumentalist Torbjørn Vagle (Norway) "Ten Waves" on January 3rd, 2020. She's also the singer of the band "Excorde" with Jonnie Cook (USA). Her solo album "But First We Burn" (produced by multi-instrumentalist CJ Teffner) was released on December 31st, 2021. It includes 12 original songs. This album won an ISSA Award for International Female Album of the Year 2022 (Gold).
Jimena is currently working on music for sync (film & TV) with producer CJ Teffner.
Jimena Arroyo es una cantautora, compositora, topliner, autora y traductora pública en lengua inglesa de La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Desde una temprana edad, demostró un gran talento para inventar canciones e historias; tanto así que solía crear sus propias canciones infantiles y, a los 8 años, escribió su primera canción en inglés, su segunda lengua.
A los 19 años, ganó un auto 0km en un concurso de canto en el programa "1,2,3 OUT!" A partir de ese momento, comenzó a cantar en una prestigiosa banda de covers local. Por más de diez años cantó en bares, teatros, restaurantes, resorts y algunos programas de televisión en su país, mientras estudiaba traducción en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata.
Cuando se recibió, continuó persiguiendo su pasión: la escritura. A la fecha lleva publicados siete libros infantiles. Pero al igual que todos volvemos a nuestro primer amor, era componer música lo que realmente la motivaba, entonces retomó la escritura de canciones originales, esta vez junto a otros talentosos músicos, compositores y productores de distintas partes del mundo.
Su talento para la composición no ha pasado desapercibido y, desde su retorno a la música profesional en 2017, Jimena fue nominada a varios premios internacionales a la música, tales como los Nashville Universe Awards (2018) y los Josie Music Awards (2018). En 2020 y 2021 recibió el premio de ISSA (Asociación Internacional de Cantautores) a la Mejor Vocalista Femenina Internacional (Plata) y su música suena en varias radios en distintas partes del mundo.
Su primer album "Ten Waves" ("Diez Olas") co-escrito con el multi-instrumentalista Torbjørn Vagle (Noruega) se lanzó el 3 de enero de 2020. Además, ella es la voz de la banda "Excorde" con Jonnie Cook (EE.UU.). Su album solista "But First We Burn" ("Pero Primero Ardemos"), producido por el multi-instrumentalista CJ Teffner, se lanzó el 31 de diciembre de 2021. Este álbum fue galardonado con el premio ISSA al Mejor Album Internacional Femenino del Año 2022.
Actualmente, Jimena se encuentra componiendo canciones para proyectos de sincronización (TV, series y películas) con el productor CJ Teffner.
